bucking while going uphill

took the mark8 on a drive today, and while going up a steep drive to a scenic outlook it started bucking/shaking/missing. I hadn't experienced this until now, and on the way back there were a few times it bucked a bit on the steeper grades on the highway. I'm inclined to think this is the fuel pump acting up, but it was at 3/4 tank so I figured I'd check here for opinions.. thanks for any help.

Pull codes.... Check for bad/intermittent coil first. You can get a code and NOT get a CEL.

+1 check for codes!!!

That does sound like what mine did when the fuel pump started falling apart.
Lucky (?) for me it came apart as I was pulling into my driveway.

well, so far it hasn't done it again. I was in the UP, so I never got the chance to pull codes.. I guess I'm going to cross my fingers and hope it doesn't happen again. Had to let the wife take it for now and bring her hoopty back to Wisconsin so hopefully it treats her well.

Just because it has not happened again does not mean you should not check for codes.
As you have read this could be many different things. My problem took months before total fuel pump failure.

I didn't not check it by choice, being in the Upper Peninsula with none of my tools, and no open parts stores left me without the option. I had no choice but to give the car to my wife to drive, so I won't be able to do anything with it until I can get over to Michigan again. So really my only option at this point is to hope it doesnt give out, whatever the problem is and deal with it on one of my weekend visits.
