Buy my Suburban

RE: Buy my Suburban

I just bought one.
a 1995 350 4x4 a Chevy, not a GMC(I prefer the Chevy grill) with split-vert doors, not a hatch.

I wanted a 454 2wd 3/4 ton...couldnt find one.

anyway...171k miles, green/tan, captains chairs, loaded(LS MODEL)
I paid $4000 for it.

You should do well Dave...nice rig.

how does the Navi tow compared to the GM?

RE: Buy my Suburban

The navigator weighs 1000 lbs more with a 1000 lb higher GVW. It has 115 more hp and 60 more ft-lbs of torque. 10" shorter wheelbase than the suburban. Much, MUCH better brakes (dual piston calipers up front, disks in the back vs. disc / drum.

With the boat hooked up, you can feel the shorter wheelbase. On the highway, that's a bad thing. Parking, that's a good thing. The extra hp and torque make a huge difference. Plus with the 4R100 i don't have to take it out of overdrive to tow. Stopping is no contest. The navigator stops the boat real easy, the 'burban was a wee bit shaky. But i did replace the brakes on the trailer too.
