Today, I test drove a beautiful 1998 Mark VIII.....silver frost with chrome octastar wheels. It was great, and I will be paying $4,600 cash for it tomorrow.
I look forward to getting it in my garage!

Currently, I own a 1979 Lincoln Mark V Collector's Series with only 45,000 miles and the original triple pinstripes. The Mark V will be at the large "Super Run" car show in Henderson, NV, in September 2008.

I look forward to contributing something to the LOD forum whenever I am able.

Oops, they sure aren't octastar wheels. I love the look of them, but I should have noticed that right away.

Just a couple of days ago, I had new rear coil springs installed in the Mark V, but here are a couple pics before that was done:

Those look like Conti wheels or even TC wheels....anyone have any ideas?

Back in the late seventies those wheels were available on both the Continental Town Cars (they were just one car back then) as well as the Mark V. So in other words, those could very well be the original wheels.

*EDIT* Am I am idiot? Are you talking about the wheels on the Mark VIII or Mark V? :) If you are talking about the Mark VIII I'm not sure.

Mindy, the wheels on the Mark V are the original turbine color coded wheels, but I have no idea what the ones on the Mark VIII are. I will try to get a new pic of one of the wheels, and see if anyone can identify it.

Sorry, I have a thing for the V's. That is beautiful! Next time I go visit my parents in Vegas, I may ask you to take me for a drive in it. :)

The turbine style wheels were always one of my favorite designs. My mom had a 79 Lincoln Town Coupe that had those on there. I stole them and put them on my 77 Town Car. :)

Two beautifull marks.

Two beautifull marks.

My ex highschool sweetheart had a Mark V just like that, but hers was gray with black top. She had those turbine wheels on it also.

Everytime i see one of those, I can't help but to think of that commercial and guy on Fantasy Island......"Corinthian Leather Seating through out" "Only in a Lincoln"

Congrats on the new Mark! :D

The Mark VIII has 112,000 on it. It's in very good shape overall, but the '79 is in even better condition. Here's one of my first pics of the Mark VIII:
