Cam (Valve) Covers

I'm going to have my intake manifold, timing cover, alternator cover and Cam (valve) covers powder coated. I intend to buy these parts and have them coated first.. then put them all on at one time.

I do have a set of '04 Cobra cam covers in my parts bin.. Can these be used on a '98 Mark?

As long as they are the same COP shape, yes. I think you can, I used 01 Cobras on mine.

Check the PCV port location if it will work for you application.

Why would you pull the motor to replace the valve and timing covers ?

I'm just going to make it pretty for this year.. next year the engine gets pulled.
The only unsightly part of this car is under the hood.

next to impossible to get those damn covers off without prying them off. and rmeoving the master cylinder

They are moderately hard to get out if you do it right. You have to jack up one side of the motor. You're not going to get them off without doing that. Use the search function and you'll find some suggestions on the easiest way to do this, I had a hell fo a time until I jacked up the motor.
