Can't use the LOD ftp

I keep getting this error attempting to get into the LOD ftp site:

"An error occured opening that folder on the ftp server.

Details: 200 type set to A
200 Port command sucessful
425 Unable to build data connection:
Connection timed out "

Can anyone tell me why I can't get into the ftp site? I shut down my Zone Alarm and still couldn't get in. What else would prevent me from getting the connection?

Can you get on from another computer?

I've gotten the same error before when trying to connect from places where it was blocked. And it wasn't something on my machine, it was something set up to not allow FTP on that connection.

Who is your internet provider? what kind of connection do you have? what kind of network at home?

I'm using a 15Mb connection from Verizion called FiOS. No network here at home, just 2 computers connected thru a router.Just checked, and dang! I CAN get on from the other computer. So it's gotta be something on this one....but what. I went all thru the troubleshooting from MicroSoft....I'm really stumped. It's a hassle to have to move to another computer ever time I wanna put a pic in the forum....HELP!

I would start by cross checking the network settings on the two machines. Then the same on IE/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced settings.

OK, now I can get to the ftp site, but now I get this error:

details:
200 Type Set to I
227 Entering Passive Mode (216, 240, 147, 239, 168, 195
550 Before .JPG: Permission denied

Oh...I also do NOT get to the sign-in screen.

Getting closer!

Here's more ammo - Attempted to get into the site using other computer. Using the sign-in info you sent me back on March 24th, I attempted to sign in and it "looked" like it took, but got the exact same error message as above.

It doesn't look like my user name/password is valid? Perhaps wiped out when the server went belly-up a while back? Alexander couldn't get me working back them either. Can you check with him to see if it's working now? Or if it isn't, can we start over and re-issue me a new user name/password?

If you like, PM/email me your info and I can see if I can log-on. If not, Alexander or Dave can reset your FTP account password and we can try that.
