Car governing at 110 ish wtf? fuel cut off? ughhh

ok, i got 4.10's and a walboro, i just put in the speedo corrector gear today (21 tooth - purple) and my car shuts of the fuel at 110 ish 115 i cant remember. before the dash would say 130 something because i had the stock corrector gear - so i know its not my speed governer, and now with the corrector gear its doing it at about 110 - 115 i forget the exact speed. i also got an LMS tune.

before both - with just the chip my car would do 136 no problem - however i did the walboro because it didn't want to really go any faster - which i lead to be a fuel pump not producing enough fuel at the high rate of speed - hence the walboro

without the lms tune my car would govern somewhere in the 120's.

now, with out with out the tune, 115 fuel shut off? what could it be.

i know theres a drive shaft speed sensor or something but im not sure what exactly is the problem?

i mean the car hauls all the way up untill that speed and falls on its face.

The speedo gear is not an exact match for the 4.10s, but it's close. I tested mine with a GPS at highway speeds. Also, the speedometer is nowhere near accurate at the extreme end. Perhaps the two together could be the cause?

You may just need to check the seating of the chip?

ok even still if its no chip, the pcm doesnt know i have gears, it thinks my cars going 115 and cutting off fuel, when in reality its going slower because the speedometer is off like 4-7 mph.

whats this speed limiter on the driveshaft?

No IM allowed on my workplace laptop.

All I know is it sounds like the speed limiter is not being defeated by the chip. The PCM and speedometer use the same speed signal.

There are two sensors - the Vehicle Speed Sensor and the Transmission Speed Sensor.

The transmission speed sensor (TSS) is a magnetic pickup, located at the output shaft ring gear that sends a signal to the PCM to indicate transmission output shaft speed.

The vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is a magnetic pickup that sends a signal to the PCM. This VSS signal tells the PCM vehicle speed. This is where the speedo gear is.

stock no chip my car would breeze at like 125, now damn 108 (speedo 115 - it cant be the chip's fault? im lost on this one? could it be that im losing fuel pressure? i mean it absolutely wont go passed the 115 mark thats why it makes not think its fuel related because i would be getting it before a higher speed.

it does the same thing whether the chip's on or off... i figured it had something to do wtih the speedo gear, but now clearly after installing the corrector gear im still getting hte same problem, but just my speedo is more accurate.

depends, it does it at 4th or 3rd, its not that high at all - 2900 maybe in fourth? ill have to double check for ya. but its not high up there

well im saying my speedo is off - i have the purple corrector gear 21 tooth... so my cars saying 115 but in reality its 7 miles slower give or take

ok no chip stock, 4.10's and the 21 tooth corrector gear stock size tires. i should be hitting the same limiter then before the gears...? which was 125 ish

115 on the speedo is like 108 in reality...

why before and after gears would this come into play - its hard to say if its the fuel pump as well, could that have any effect on cutting off fuel at a certain speed?

That's too low.

Something is amiss. I would backtrack and see what happens. Maybe the gear or VSS is whacked? I don't think the VSS is a common failure, but who knows? It's a long shot but not an expensive shot in the dark I would think.

If it does it with or without the chip, then it's not the chip either.

Fuel? Normally fuel deficiency would not be speed specific but it is throttle specific.

can you give me more info abou the tss, you said its on the output shaft ring gear, is that in the differential or where exactly is that?

all i did was 4.10's and the walboro - i didnt get into anything other than that...? im gonna pull the tune and run it again see what happends - cuz at this point eh somethings wrong and its definetly rpm related? i mean i can punch my car at wot and its a bat out of hell all the way through up untill 3600 in fourth, or third at like 6k

It is on the side of the tranny. The VSS is on the most rearward, it is in the side of the tailshaft housing. The TSS is slightly more towards the front on the side of the main case.

Here's a not so good pic that shows the two sensors.

The VSS is furthest to the rear. The next sensor towards the front is the TSS.
