9. Hard Luck - JP
Leaving home Thursday evening found a tire on the '96 low on air pressue. After calling and talking the local tire shop to stay open until we could get there, they found a large nail in the low profile tire. While they were fixing the tire Mrs. Driller and I drove the '93 to the store for some supplies for the trip. I was showing her the newly installed air suspension height adjustment module(ASHAM8) when I discovered much to my dismay it had quit working.

10. Furthest Driven - Rene Saylor(533 miles)

J, we like to think of ourselves as members of a car club with an internet website forum. ;)

Thank you!

The All Ford Nationals at Carlisle, PA is the FASTEST 56 hours in the entire year! John, Sharon, Alex, Leon and everyone else ... there was just so much to do that weekend and not enough time for all of the ooh's and aah's that we normally enjoy at a show.

"Sandy" Block, the first owner of PINKIN will be extremely proud to hear that The Lincolns Of Distinction hold his former car in such high esteem. I remain in contact with at least three of the previous owners.

Alexander. Always play with cars Man. I'll tell Sandy and Al Eggers that you said hello.

You can talk about the car club anytime Jessie.

It's a great club!

We usually do most of our talk about it in the Members Round Table section though.

Oh, the first rule is "Obey all rules":D

congrats, winners.

I saw on the official Carlisle trophy list that:

1) there weren't enough cars to have a Gen 1 and Gen 2 class
2)JP took home 1st and 2nd place with his two modified Mark VIII's(HUGE props JP)
3)There is a new #1 "stock" Mark VIII WINNER. Moose gets out-judged?
What happened Leo, did you hide your car under a cover during judging? or was this 1996 Mark VIII THAT clean?

sure wish they had something like this out here on the west coast. The KBF show is a total bust.

congrats, winners.

You can't tell from that, IMO there were enough and next year I hope the club does a concerted push to re-establish proper classes.

To be honest I really didn't check it out very carefully. I took a quick look at all the cars but nothing really stood out in stock except Rene's and Moose. Someone told me that this was the same young lady that stood by her car last year (the LS with the lambo doors?) hawking votes and that she did the same this year but I don't know if that's true or not. Other than that I honestly never paid much creedence to peer voting anyway, it's usually a matter of taste and color. Rene, Brad, and I were having this conversation one night and I'm sure that color plays a big role in peer judging. Anyone who loves a black car will vote for the black even if another is better prepared. I've always said that Rene's car and Moose are equivalent in prep and the only reason Moose beats her every time is Moose's color.

Thanks Craig, it's tough polishing 2 cars. ;)

KBF?

Where does it show on the Carlisle site how many cars registered for each class? I see the winners list, but it does not show many cars there were for each class.

The only '96 Mark that was in our stock class that was nice enough to win a trophy was NOT stock.

It had: 97/98 chrome directionals, it was lowered to the grass, it had Cobra snake emblems on the front fenders, and the windows were tinted totally black. It should have been on the Modified side

That wasn't Debi with the LS last year. I've met Debi twice now. She does have a beautiful black 96 Mark VIII LSC though. She beat me for the award too.:)

I talked to the LS lady last year (and took a few photos also:D ). I didn't see the car or her, this year.

In years past modified cars have appeared in stock classes. They have an advantage over stock cars in appearance and usually place in the top three.

If I remember correctly, to be considered stock in the Carlisle rules, the car must have three or fewer modifications and must look stock.

The Carlisle registration does not inspect the cars on entry. You can register a Ford Fiesta as a Lincoln Mark VIII and the registering show staff will not know.

A complaint can be made during the show to the Carlisle staff during the show, and they will come and change the class of the car after inspection.

Possibly, to make things fairer and give guidance to registrants as to what is stock and what is modified, the show registration should have a short checklist as to modifications a car has : engine, suspension, wheels, paint, interior, window tinting.
