CD Changer Magazine

Did the 10 Disc Magazine change over the years 93 to 98? I bought one on ebay, part number E9LF-18C833-AA. It fits in there just fine but the radio says "NO CD" when I try to use it. The e-bay listing said it was for early 90's Fords but I found another listing that said this part number would work for 96. (who says you can trust e-bay anyway).

So basically I'm asking, is this the right part? If it is then is this a simple problem with my CD changer possibly? Or would it be best to find another one changer that is still working?

Probably is the right part. The changer however is prone to failure and the common msg is "no CD". I dont remember ever hearing of a fix for that. Im sure there is one, but I sure dont know what it is.

I pulled this from my '93 if interested...

I have a 97 LSC with cd in the trunk and it said the same mesage I ended pulling my changer out whit I put in my in dash cd player

if i were you i would just get a aftermarket cd/mp3/wma player you can put all the music you want in folders and wma and mp3 can equal like 8 cds in one or get an after market cd changer its not that expensive and easy to install.

I've never liked the look of aftermarket head units even though I had some in both of my Cougars.

Are there aftermarket CD changers that hook up in the same place as the factory CD changer?

you could take the old one out and put a new aftermarket changer where the original is and only have to run a few wires it's pretty easy.
