Hey guys I own a 97 lsc and the upper ball joints are worn out and I will be repalcing the upper control arms since you can't get just the ball joint. I looked it through and it seems like a perty easy job but I just wanna make sure is there anything special I have to do or watch for when im chaning them do I have to do anything to the airbags? also when i remove the bolts will there be any kind of load that I should watch for before i remove the bolts? thanks

RE: Changing upper control arms.

The job is easier if you buy yourself a Gearwrench. Its 5 degree ratchet is needed to remove the nut on the driver's side. Its slow, but at least you do not have to mess around with your master cyl.

RE: Changing upper control arms.

How much do the upper arm cost ???? OH, What Vortech kit is that on your Mark VIII ?

RE: Changing upper control arms.

They run about $70 a piece from rockauto.com

It's a vortech e-trim for a 2001 cobra with a 1998 cobra bracket.

RE: Changing upper control arms.

So you can't buy it as a kit ? I have been thinking about putting one on my Mark VIII. I have had a few blower on My Mustang I use to have (S & T-trims ) I have also Had a number of blowers on my 94 Lightning ( A,S & now a J-trim mondo and a XX-trim on the way).
