Check Engine Light P0411

I love getting new/used cars and having the check engine light com on less than a week later. Ran the Code P0411 (Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow Direction). I’ve been looking around and all I can find is something about at valve sticking or clogged but nothing about which valve or location. Can anyone help with some information?

Make sure you gas cap is on tight. Now that you have your codes disconnect the battery and see what comes back.

I'm pretty sure the Secondary Air Injection valve is in front of the crank pulley on the OBD2 cars. It is basically a check valve.

It's a real pump...located in drivers side wheel well....towards front. I bought one thinking I had to replace it lat spring. Still in my parts locker!

DOH! I know where the pump is! He was asking where the valve is! :fart

This is the third time I've tried to post this for you. I WAS going to go to bed but I didn't realize you double posted this issue. Here you go, follow the number sequence depending on if you answer YES or NO.

this what your talking about

OK - OK JP, sorry 'bout that.... I believe that part came in the box when I bought the pump too - still attached...... sometimes I don't read all the words in front of me.

Anyway that check valve should be easy enough to check. Unless his has been physically damaged, I find it hard to believe it is bad. Bet he finds it's a different problem.

yah sorry about that, on the other posting I mint it more as a comment than a tech questions but thank you for your help, I saved the pics you posted as a file.

You know, I was thinking about the conversation I had with the Auto Dealer when I bought the car and he stated that they bought a new Air Pump $145; I thought they were talking about the air ride compressor and the car had obvious signs of the computer being reset. And every now and then I can vaguely hear a pump come on that sounds very tight like it’s new.

Tests 28-32 are missing.

last Thursday I traced the vacuum hose from the vacuum valve in front of the harmonic balancer, disconnected it and sucked the tube and could tell the valve was opening aan closing. I traced it to the Electric valve under the driver side strut tower cap. Replaced the electric valve with one off my 94 then reset the computer and so far I haven’t gotten the CE light yet.

Haha, that or the 17 images I had to save to my computer, then upload to PhotoBucket, then copy each individual URL to LOD....but probably age...I am 30 now. :p
