Let me check for you..........but it sounds like a bad MAP sensor, hense the reason for sucking gas!

Ok, doubled checked and confirmed. I have some pin-out tests you can do to double check, but its 90% probably going to be a faulty MAP sensor....which most likely going to be located on the firewall somewhere. I can't find it in any pictures though.

thank you for the replys. well the car is stock no mods no upgrades stock filter. and for the map sensor is it located on the drive side fire wall, plus when i was driving about 55 it hesatate a little. i will try that and see what happens thanks i will let you know the out come

well i called up the dealer ship and i wanted to order the map sensor and they said it might be the EGR so i just bought the map sensor anyways lets give it a try thank you it dont hurt to try

Lol, good job...don't listen to the dealership....they just want to sell you stuff. You got a MAP sensor code and they say you need an EGR Valve, lmao.

ok i went down to the dealer they said they dont have a map sensor for a lincoln ls so i called a nother dealer they said the same thing but one said it might be the MAS sensor the one after the air filter is that true

MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor NOT MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor. Looks like on your car you either have a TMAP (Thermal Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor or the MAP sensor is integrated into the DPFE Sensor which is basically the EGR Pressure sensor. If the dealer is saying you don't have a MAP or TMAP sensor, then get the DPFE Sensor or EGR Pressure sensor by the EGR Valve.

sweet thanks for the info it really helps
,i took it to a shop and they are going to charge me $60 to let me know what part needs to be replaced thank you keep you in formed

Nice, let us know....or me because I'm the only one helping, lol! Oh wait, Bud chimed in too! :)

i called the shop today, and he told me that they checked the thermal map sensor and thats ok . he asked me if it has ever been in a reck i told him never and he asked how long has this light been on i told him like one moth but once the light came on i parked it. then he said he thinks it could be a short in my Electrical but then he said he is not shure yet he wants to keep it over nigh to do more test with no extra charge, and i told him ok and i let him know i just replaced the battery one week ago because i thought that might have something to do with it. well i will call him tomorrow and lets see what he tells me and i will ask him if he checked the EGR and the DPFE just to make shure.

ok they said the tmap sensor is intergrated in the egr so i need to get a new egr its olny $80 for the part something easy i will just install it my self so ya i will buy the part install it and hope the light goes away.

ok installed the part the EGR and i drove it for about 50 miles and no check engin light sweet its fixed thank you for your time and help , so its the EGR wires where fine the shop bull S#it.

Hey Gilbert, I had a check engine light problem on my 2003 Lincoln LS 2003. I could not pass the Georgia emissions test. I kept getting a p00108 code. After going to numerous repair shops and the dealer, no one could figure out the MAP sensor. After reading your post, I purchased an egr from the internet for $100 and got it installed for $50 and the car is now passed the emissions test and running fine. Thanks for the post.
