I'd see if there's an SCT (superchips custom tuning) dealer near you, and get your car dyno tuned using that softrare. They're just rolling it out but there are people tuning vehicles with it.

What kind of chip do you have and what kind of problem are you having it is posible to have a problems with a chip, but the newer chip seem to be better. I have tried 7 chip programs and the superchip programer beleive it or I found problems with all of them in my car, but was better than leaving the car stock. I looked in a old book for the mark VIII on hypertech and the mark was not there I am not done looking. If you had a problem with the chip it could be the chip or the compter not getting good contack either way, the micro tuner did work very well. One thing I found wrong with the micro tuner is when the OD putten is off or when you can go into OD the car will not shift wright that's only on the custon tune. ON the superchip TUNE the car shift ok with the OD putten on or off. I went into the custon tune for a lot of reasons. The micro tuner will not fix the speedo for gears and tires or turn the fans on for lower temps like 180 or 160 sat because that did not start tell 99' and up turners. YOU can change line pressure in trans,speed limiter, and shift POINT. A dyno is go place to get peek power but on a auto car you will not know tell you drive it. The track is a good place to turn as well, the dyno does not lie but a good time slip is what you are looking for. This test was only done on my car 96' Mark VIII could be different on other years or codes on the computer. I did not go it the diagnostics on the programer because I have no code on the computer wright know. Hope this helps.

your car may have been reflashed. there is supposed to be a sticker showing the new code if that happened . the only way to find out is to have a tuner scan your computer or go to dealer or have the chip supplier scan your computer. I went to a dealer they tried to bend me over for 150 bucks for something that takes 5 minutes read the computer code . my computer says rkk3 I tryed 2 chips both worked Jerry told me I am rkk6!

If you pull the chip out with the key on it can cause the chip to go bad, and the compter. If the chip just gets loose it could cause it to go out as well. If the chip is a four bank it Should work even if your compter has been reflashed. Call the people were you bought the chip from and have then test it, thay can tell you if the chip is good if not thay might give you a new one, even if thay say it is good tell them to reburn the chip.
