Chop top

Has anyone chopped the top on a MK VIII. About a 2 inch drop would look ,well,sinister,don't you think? It would have to be a dark color though.

Nope. One guy shortened one about 8 inches, but nobody has chopped one yet. That would require an unbelievable amount of custom work to accomplish. It would be hella-cool though.

Maximum drivers height would be limited to 5'-6". LOL

Not Really.

My Dads friend has a 41' Willy's Gasser with a 4 inch chop and I fit right in with no problems at all.

Im 6' 1" 225 lbs.

I have very little excess headroom in my '93 and cannot imagine it with a full 2" chop. Perhaps the moonroof doesn't help but at 6'-0" and the seat all the way down and back with a little recline to the seat back - it's a tight fit. Comfortable for sure, just not a lot of room to spare vertically.
