Cobra Bilsteins Step by Step w/Pics

RE: Cobra Bilsteins Step by Step w/Pics

I want to order these for my car.. but I also have a 93.. so will these ones work? what do I do about the electronic adjuster on the top? can I just leave it off? will that affect anything?

I would like to know to if this will work on a 93 as well. I replaced my rear shocks and strut moutns from Arnot but I am not happy with the results. At least I have new mounts to work with.

I've seen several threads on this deal in the last 1 1/2 years on both forums and I also have questions as I have 85k on my MK8 and will soon need shocks I'm sure. I just recently did everything on the front end.
#1- Why Cobra Bilsteins instead of stock MK8, or aftermarket replacement of same? better handling? price? other?

#2- What IS done with the electrics from old shocks on Gen1?

#3- Are the new shock mounts a separate purchase for MK8 specific or what?

1#- They are stiffer = rough ride but better handling, and great for those who lowered their cars to rid of the bouncy ride.
3#- Yes, they sell them as kits, I think right around $40 per side.

Please explain the physics to me, cause the way I see it, there is a sleeve through the center of the shock mount. When you tighten the nut on the shock, you will get some compression of the rubber, at least until you bottom the washer out against that sleeve. But that is not going to make up for the slop between the shock shaft and the sleeve through the mount.
