Cobra brakes on my mark !!!

First off this is probably one of the best mods that i have done to my mark so far. And of course everyone wants to know the cost
Brand New loaded Red Cobra Calipers $240 shipped to my door
Brand new Drilled and Slotted 13 inch Cobra rotors $94 shipped to my door
So the total cost is only $334.
I had the rotors redrilled to fit the mark 8 wheel lug pattern.
The job is almost a direct bolt on. Except that the passenger side caliper needs to be ground down a bit in order for the brake line to fit snugly behind it.

What would this whole thing be without pics riiiight?

Here is my old brake fluid... only 20k miles on it (The color was clear when i poured it in)

She stops much better at gentle applications, brake feel is overall much improved from before.

where did you get the calipers from? how much did you spend on the redrill of the rotors? Now wouldn't it be cool to put the stock calipers on the rear?? =) Are the cobra brakes any larger?

I got the calipers I got from ebay. The redrill cost me $40 at a local machine shop. They used a special machine to make sure that the holes are spaced appropriatly in proportion to the outside of the rotor. Cobra Rotors are 13 inches, the brakes (calipers) themselves are about the same size.

It must be the trend ... hehe ... I have the same thing on my car for a week now. What rotors did you go with ? You know that cheap rotors will warp the same way they did on marks brakes right ?
Now update the rears to cobra rotors keeping the mark calipers and you will have a nice set. You will need a custom bracket to move the caliper out.

This mod does require larger wheels and tires, right?
For a stock wheeled car, this would drive the cost up to more than most of us would want to pay.

To answer some questions. Yes you need at least 17 inch wheels. I went with cheap ones, but the guy had over 99.9% positive feedback, if they warp, i'll get a new set that is higher quality, although from the looks of the rotors that i've received, they were pretty good.

I got these from ebay. Just do a search(type in "cobra caliper"). They are fairly popular since these brakes are an upgrade for every mustang except for the cobra.
