do i need cobra fuel rails or will stock 97 rails work?
the intake i am getting doesnt come with the rails, so i was just wondering if i need them or not..

RE: Cobra intake swap question

If you want to hook EGR back up or be able to check the fuel pressure you will need Cobra fuel rails. Otherwise the Mark VIII fuel rails will work fine.

RE: Cobra intake swap question

not worried about EGR, but the fuel pressure.. is the schrader valve on the mark's rails blocked by the cobra intake somehow?

RE: Cobra intake swap question

Yep, but i can't recall exactly where. I ran around with the mark fuel rails for awhile with no problem until i found a deal on the cobra fuel rails. If you can delete the EGR and don't have a fuel pressure problem you can use the '97 mark fuel rails for now, and just keep your eye out for a good deal on cobra fuel rails, which do fit a little better.

RE: Cobra intake swap question

since the egr is not a problem you can cut off about 1.5 inches off the snout then you can plug it with jb weld not the quick the slow set jb has a higher temp rating. otherwise you will have to bend the vac fitting on the fuel pressure regulator to clear it. send me email for a pic or 2 glenh34@excite.com ssr intake website has a lot of useful info. there is more info on the other mark site . please do not correspond with anyone via email if your questions are kept on this site other swappers can access that info online.
