Would help to know what year.....96 or 97/98?
I have a 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII, need to replace one of my low beam headlights,, I went to the local ford dealer and they are telling I can only order the Full headlight replacement unit including the plastic cover,, for $900.00. I replaced one is 2003 and it only cost me 169.00 for that one. what has happened. I would consider rewiring so I don't have to use this type of set up anymore if I could find someone here in Southern California that could do it for me on both sides. My high means are good. they are not HID, yes the old white, yellowish hue? Anyone have any suggestions?your description is very weak, is this the new halogen headlight assemblies that delete the h.i.d problem, or are these new hid's? seems like you are missing info. be more specific.

...would like to get rid of them and convert them to a more cost efficient set up.

im sorry but you say almost the same light and color from a silverstar? silverstar bulbs are garbage, you get more light from a standard sylvania 9005 bulb thats been around for years then those silverstar highly priced pieces of crap. theres no incandescent bulb yet that can produce the output lumens of an hid bulb. i understand fully the whole problem with these factory hid bulbs but i will never resort to going to regular light bulbs ever.
