I'm not thinking this summer, but over the winter I would like to restore the car 100% so it's like it's brand new. Although I do want to do a couple things. I would like to shave the door handles and also keep the switches that allow me to raise and lower at will. Also maybe put some smaller performance enhancing parts in the engine, nothing major, i'm not talking boring out the cylinders or anything crazy, just simple add ons...
I'm curious of what you guys would guess an estimated price would be even though I know that would be pretty hard without seeing every detail. It's not beat to hell or anything, but I still would most likely replace 90% of used parts, keeping some essential ones that may be very expensive or hard to find (like the huge relay, had to buy it 2 years ago and they told me there were only a few in the whole country!)
So I would be looking at paint, maybe $3000. I'm talking a beautiful paintjob (just black) along with the shaved door handles. I would also like to redo the engine, I want everything on the car to look brand new.
$20,000 a safe estimate or would you think even more? I know parts are expensive for it and between a nice paintjob and 2 brand new headlights i'd be looking at $4,000 right there alone. The dash is still in beautiful shape so I would probably keep it, but things like door panels and seats carpet etc, things that have wear and tear from regular use I would like to replace.
