Guys, I'm planning on servicing my tranny in the next week or two. I have a 98 LSC and I know to use Merc V or what ever is the latest fluid and a new filter but I'm not clear on what else I need to do while the pan is down? Do I need to do the accumulator or not? I don't care about firm shifts I just want to avoid any costly repairs........ I may do a cooler later but I don't want to get into that right now. Any advice?

Filter and Mercon V and you should be good to go as the accumulators in your transmission should be OK unless you are experiencing shifting problems.

Most of the stuff in the 98 have already been upgraded by the factory for longer life.

Mostly capacity, although there may be some cooling benefit.
