FS: Cowl top screws and grommets

I see too many of these cars missing these cowl screws.
The grommets become brittle over the years, and break, causing a tough to pin point wind noise.

Full (7) set of grommets and nylon screws, exact match to what is (or was) on the mark viii from the factory.

$15 shipped. 7 sets available.

$15 seems kind of high to me. Maybe shipping and handling costs included?

I posted the part number for cowl retainers back in 2005 - #41099 for Gen 2 Marks. They are 3 bucks at Rock auto for 6 screws right now. I think Ford still might sell them too. Back in the day they were 5 bucks from Ford someone posted.

As per above, the price is $15 shipped for the full set of 7.

Not sure how your 2005 post and pricing applies here, but Ford gets this much for these parts today:

OEM Catalog
PIN 5X26 PUSH IN $1.19
OEM Catalog
RET-COWL TOP VEN GRL $1.74
Total: $20.51 for 7 of each.

... so yeah, it's a deal ;) I bought quite a few as I go thru at least 3-4 cars a month that need these, thus the savings. :fart

I'm still not sure where these go, but I want them... :D

If Jeremi is selling, we buy. Lol! Why do you think I bought the Tan car? Which better have brand new cowl grommets or I'm gonna be pissed. First I have to buy a fuel door button, now grommets!? Meh.

Did Eric steal the fuel door button as a little memento? :D

What's wrong with the button? Always worked for me

Haha, they're freaking nylon screws. You can use 10cent push pins if you like in their place.
Buy Chinese dorman parts, or US made Ford parts. Either way works for me. I have plenty cars to use these on, just figured I'd share what's been pissing me off for a while now.

I'll snap a picture later to show exactly where they go for the confused ones ;)

... oh, and Eric's bill is getting bigger and bigger :)

thanks 'cause I don't know where they go :(

lol I said they are going for 3 bucks at Rock Auto now - today - go look for yourself. :)

The thread I linked had a post saying someone bought the Ford ones for 5 bucks in 2005. It is what it is. :)

Search that part number on the net. They are everywhere real cheap, and they last. Like Jeremi said, they are freaking nylon screws lol, not some type of critical fastener that you must have a Ford fastener for.

In fact, the Ford fasteners fall off anyway lol. That is why Jeremi has so many of them for sale ;)

The cheap ones I bought in 2005 at Autozone are still working on my car 6 years later. Not one has fallen off yet. ;)

when did I start a tab?? lol

Haha well, when I had to buy a proper color fuel door because my interior isn't black. :) Now I gotta buy these too, so we just keep putting it on your tab. That's what happens when you sell a car to someone you know. :p

haha yea I noticed that but I didn't care enough to fix it. ;)

Lame. :D

You know what's real lame, is that EVERYONE is giving THE MAN (Jeremi) crap about trying to hook up the Lincoln community with a fix it kit for the cowl wind noise. SO WHAT if he's going to make 62 cents on the deal.....no one is giving Doug crap about charging to much for all his suspension stuff, or Jay for his shock mounts and Crossover Caps, or JP for digging into the pockets of the club to buy stupid chairs for Carlile. NOOOO lets all focus on Jeremi making 39 cents on some stupid plastic grommets that took him more time then its worth to post a thread to help us out! Not to mention.....this White Lightning thread that has 4000 something views! Meh....it's probably stuff like this that sent him into "hiding" the last time.

Link to cheap grommets for the win.
