Crash! Mark VIII vs Honda Civic

Sorry....no contest.

Got rear ended by a 91 Civic in a road construction zone west of Daytona Beach.....Kid heading to a college class didn't slow down and nailed me doing 25mph.

I have a muffler hanging...cosmetic bumper damage, and a bent tailpipe....hopefully thats all..

We had to push a wrecked, steaming dead Civic off the road....no grill, smashed hood, broken radiator, fenders bent, lights broken..

I saw no need for a police report and his Progressive Insurance Company admitted fault immediately, so they're having my car fixed Tuesday AM, along with a free rental car.....(needed that bumper painted anyway)

Was taking off Friday from work to go car shopping for my 17 year old daughter...I called her up today and told her to cross any thoughts of a Honda Civic off her list..

If the civic was as bad as you describe it your mark could be totalled. I got rear ended, and although it didn't look bad, there was 6k worth of damage. And i had no hanging tailpipes etc.

We'll see.....its driving straight....no visible push into the wheel wells or trunk....its like he hit the brakes and got his nose under the rear, lifted me up and pushed me forward..

I am pretty confident its 'ok'.

If it's a '94 with 173k on it than they may total it. Not that that would be altogether bad, you could end up with your car back and a nice check, and just have to find someplace to do the work cheap.

Girl i work with had someone hit her cutlass ciera. totaled the car, but the only damage was a dent in the quarter panel and a broken taillight. They bought the car back from the insurance company, used touch up paint on the dent, got a junkyard taillight, and ended up over a grand ahead with damage that's not visible from 10 feet.
