Crown Vic P71 rear window switches

was referred to this site by the roommate who thinks that you guys are gods for helping him out with so many question on his markVIII. Just wondered if any of you also have knowledge about the crown vic police cars and how I might get the rear window switches operating again. I removed the switches and they appear to be wired correctly. Anyone know how they render these switches inoperable? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm Randall's roommate. It's a '95 CV that was a detective's car so it didn't have ALL the bells and whistles. If you're talking about the window lock switch yes it does. We replaced the regulator in the pass. rear door last night and while we had it apart checked to see that it was wired up. The drivers switches works on all windows but the individual doors switches do nothing.

As it was a cop car, hey were prob disabled as were the unlock switch for the doors...are they working?

At the top of the Electrical thread is a link to the Maint Manuals for most ANY car. Electrical schematics are there.

Thanks, I'll give it a look. There are no switches for the locks on the back doors, you have to manually operate them but both front doors will lock and unlock all doors.
