curious

J, stupid question, the grey mk 8 in your signature is a 95 or 96? looks sick with the black rims and hood
haha, i didnt mean better as in performance and luxury cause when he first got the mk 8 4 or 5 years ago it was the nicest looking car id ever seen, besides a benz or a beamer. i cant get one for a daily driver because ill run into a lot of problems, in 2 years a 95 will be 18 years old, the air bags can go, and thats expensive, and alot of other things. i would want to have something more reliable in the long run. mark viii's are amazing machines to be honest, ive done alot of research and i know alot about them lol. this site helps me figure out more stuff thats possible to do, and i can come here to ask for help if he has a problem with the car.

Not a stupid question at all. Hard to tell what year a mark is if you can't see the exhaust or if it has different rims. Not to mention when it looks like mine did. :) It's a 95 with a lot of 99 Cobra stuff installed. See here.

As far as reliable, the fact that Tixer just drove 5000 miles from Minnesota to California and back for a one day car show in his 97 Mark with almost 200k miles says a lot.

As far as replacing the air bags, I got 4 used ones from the wrecker over here for 60 bucks (NOT each, total front and rear :)). These cars are old enough that parts are cheap once they fail. It's the same with the Mustang your Dad's looking at, it's gonna need maintenance to stay running, and honestly, I'd rather drive a mark 8. New, a $45k car compared to a $30k Mustang.

:D

*And* I'm the car of the month for four more days. it's a good year for my little Lincoln...

She's so pretty..

yeah true i couldn't really tell lol, was thinking definately not a 97 or 98. the mustang will hopefully be my 1st or 2nd car idk, there aren't alot of mk 8's within my area. i either find a nice one with 150k miles or a beat up one with good mileage lol, its gonna take time if i really want to find a nice one, which i do.

It's funny seeing two people, 60 years apart, being in love with the same thing.
