Yes some of you know I have been working on a MAF adapter. Its done and you can tell the diff. Faster, smoother at WOT and also louder. pics are soon to be up

RE: Custom MAF adapter

For a cone filter. Sorry I guess I forgot to mention the whole part of the post. Its all the octane in my system.

RE: Custom MAF adapter

why did you need to make one when they already have kits that are cheap and work fine. it is ok to make stuff you self it is always give more satifaction when you make it your self and it come out great.

RE: Custom MAF adapter

I just bought an 02 GT airbox and intake tube off someone cheap. A few minutes with a hacksaw and some epoxy putty, and i had me a cone filter. Paper, too, none of that K&N non-filtration crap.

RE: Custom MAF adapter

I'm confused (which isn't hard to do to me anyway :) ) can you please post some pics.

RE: Custom MAF adapter

ya soon as i get pics. it worked out nice all the metal and tools were free so why not. its on the heavy side i think it weighs a pound

RE: Custom MAF adapter

why so heavy.. even with a billit alumin adaptor i sell with K&N and metal adaptor for the mass air to the intake tube it weight less then that.

RE: Custom MAF adapter

that is nice but the pro-m's i sell already have a volicity stack built in to them. so that would not work for some.

Its not for some its for our maf kit as well as the stock maf.

It dynoed impressively too.

RE: Custom MAF adapter

So that thing is a "velocity stack" that would attach to the MAF sensor? Wouldn't any velocity that that would add, be negated by the rest of the intake tube and the intake design?

RE: Custom MAF adapter

Not at all because the air is hitting this first right after the K&N.

This is to stabilize the air and speed it up going into the maf sensor evenly.

RE: Custom MAF adapter

Cool stabilizer. Ok I will get some pics soon. I would have them but Im saving my money. Got to buy an LMS chip. Anyways does the stock air box already have a Stabilizer. I think it would work good with the after market goodies.

RE: Custom MAF adapter

there are a couple companies out there that have similar volocity stackes. they work well that is why the pro-m's come with them. you should be able to bolt on a K&N and put one on with your stock mass air and pick up 10 hp or so at the wheels. a pro-m will make usally between 10 and 20 at the wheels depending on what it has done to it.
