I test drove a 96 Mark8
138k
25 anniversary model
it drove good, idled great and ran really good.
My wife went to pick it up a few minutes ago so we could have it this weekend to drive and put it on a lift etc.
Owner took it to his "mechanic" to check it out
mechanic convinced owner to put new plugs in because of mileage...guess what a miss cyl 3 or so says the idiot that did the work.
they swapped coil packs around, put other plugs back in etc...in the morning they are "replacing the wires"
I told the owner the mechanic was full of...crap. there are no spark plug wires
They "worked" on it for 5 hrs....argh...
I really wanted this car and now some idiot is screwing with a vehicle that ran really good.
so,
trying to stay calm
what could the idiot of done? oil on coil connector?
pulled wires and broke one internally?
non metallic anti-sieze on plugs?
Sorry for the newbie rant before introduction....damn I was so happy with this car
