Hello, I have read a couple posts about this but came up with nothing when I did a search. I am going to be installing a tranny that I pulled from a '98 into my '93 and I know there is a wiring difference or something that may need to be modified for installation into the '93. If anyone has any info about this please let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I replaced my '95 LSC's tranny last year with a new tranny from a '98 Mark VIII. It had all the updates and was basically a straight swap with no problems.

I believe the torque converter clutch solenoid is different from the 93-95 and the 96 and newer.I believe the newer ones are high impedance and the old ones low.Or the opposite.

Definitely get a '98 or newer trans. They are better. Read the rest of that "book" on TCCOA. Basically the best thing to do is start with a newer 5.4L trans and make a few modifications to make it fit.

Thanks! I forgot about that TCCOA article. So, all I have to do is change the pinout configuration of the main harness, and keep the MLPS from the '93 and all should be well. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

The tranny is in and the car is running great! WOOHOOOO! This tranny should last a loooong time ('98, 35,000mi, Mercon V). Thanks for the help, everyone!
