RE: Do all Mark 8' s use the R-134a refrigerant
From Ford's Service Features 1993, vol.1 , no.1, inside back page:
"Prompted by environmental concerns, Ford Motor Company has launched production of Taurus 3.0L passenger cars equipped with CFC-Free air-conditioning systems. Built at the Atlanta, Georgia assembly plant, the cars will be sold in the Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas metro areas.
Early limited introduction (of the R-134a systems) will be followed by the Lincoln Mark VIII which will be available in all Lincoln dealerships in the model year 1993. By 1995, all Ford and Lincoln-Mercury vehicles will be equipped with the new systems."
So, with that said (or reprinted, as it would be) all Mark VIIIs not only have R-134a, but are the first production Ford vehicles to do so. Not as exciting as having the DOHC 4.6 first, but still cool all the same.
