Hello Everybody,

I was wondering if anybody leaves their AC on when they turn off their cars, and if so, is it bad for the car?

The only time mine is shut off is at the track. }( Shouldn't be a problem leaving it on.

I turn it off EVERYTIME before I turn off the ignition.

OK, I gotta ask, why?

I always turn mine to "Vent" a minute or two before getting to where I'm stopping the car. That's because "Vent" is the only position that bypasses the compressor, (unless it's under 50 degrees out), and doing so allows the condensation in the system from the AC to dry out, preventing mold and mildew buildup...

i always turn mine off. its just a habit. i doubt it makes any difference, but John makes a very interesting point, i might start to do what he does and turn mine to vent. because my car does have a very slight moldy smell in the a/c right when it starts up.

I always shut everything off before turning the car off. (Dad's Driver Training School.) ;)

Thats just how i've always done it, mostly because when I start the car to warm it up the next day, the AC wont kick in while the engine is warming up (dont like the AC to engage while dry, at high RPM).
