Doesnt really make sense

I know there's no explanation for it, but I replaced my serpentine belt due to the incessant squealing, and it feels like I have about 5 more horsepower. It sure is nice not to hang my head in shame and quickly turn the car off in the parking lot because of the squealing. Too bad there were not Gatorbacks available.:D

RE: Doesnt really make sense

Check autozone.com
I picked up a gatorback for my application there. They only have them online though, not available in stores.

RE: Doesnt really make sense

I also put a Gatorback on mine. Much MUCH quieter. My belt looked fine, but it sounded bad. After switching to a gatorback, no noise. Well worth the extra money IMO. In fact my jeep is making some noise, and I am putting a gatorback on it. This should be the part number you need 4060980

RE: Doesnt really make sense

Just put a gatorback on mine and the squeal is gone, and it seems like the a/c blows colder.::roll:: I'm just so happy to have my car back and able to go down the road with no engine ping or squeal. I put it on the road to Bay St. Louis this weekend and got 23 to 25mpg (best ever!). Oh yeah, got my fuel injection system cleaned, too. :+ No more Shell gas for me! I was lucky...one of the guys I work with had both of his vehicles' gas gauges ruined by the bad gas!

Please elaborate. Who, where, what, cost, opinions, ETC...

RE: Doesnt really make sense

I got my injection system cleaned at Quick Stop Car Wash and Lube Center. I've been getting my oil changed there for a couple of years now and have gotten to know the head "mechanic" there. He suggested that I try their injection cleaning service ($46)and promised that it would be safe for my car. He said he'd done his vehicle, his parents, and all his friends' vehicles and everyone was really happy with the results. I know that my car is getting better mileage now since it has been done. I think the stuff/system he used is Golden Touch. I know that he hooked it up to the engine and ran the car for about 25-40 minutes. I've been really pleased with the results. When their brochures come in again, I'll scan it and send it to you if you're interested.
