I have a 96 that I just purchased and I am having problems with the passenger door latch. It open fine from the outside but from the inside it will only open to the first latch (part way open or closed). The power door lock button will not operate but it will operate mannually. The "Door Adjar" light remains on all of the time on the information screen. Wehn you operate the power door lock button you can hear a motor running but nothing happens. I tried sprying WD-40 in the latch assemble last weekend but it did not help. Any suggestions?

Look in the tech section of the forum for directions to pull the inner door panel. Once that is pulled, the workings of the power door lock can be examined. From your description, something has become disconnected.
Spraying WD40 into the door latch may eventually cure the 'door ajar' warning. Usually it is more effective when the door is opened/closed several times after application of the penetrant/lubricant.
