Double DIN or not

I've been searching old posts to see what radios fit in a 1995 Mark VIII and I'm just getting more confused. Some posts say that double DIN radios fit and others say that the hole is just slightly too small and trimming of the wood paneling is required. I don't want to install a single DIN and have to use one of those cheap plastic panels.
Has anybody installed a double DIN radio in their dash without trimming. Any pics?
I've been looking on Crutchfield and every radio they list states that it is not compatible with the Mark VIII. :confused:
 
You dont really have to trim the wood itself, just the inside edge and not a whole lot. It will be tight, but from the outside you will not see any modification to the bezel.
