Dreaded Fresh air intake..

Yep,it was finally my turn....Wipers,upper and lower cowls came off easy. The duct was pivoting firewall towards engine. Cut remaining caulking away and removed it. Cleaned up,ready to caulk and reinstall,but firewall side sticks up about 3/4 of an inch and just doesn't seem to feel like it lines up right. What if anything am I doing wrong. Thanks for any and all help everybody,same as always. It started off as an easy job,maybe I'm just looking for something that isn't there.

Look for MArk Darrah's post. He did at my house. Also run a bead of caulk along the lower back corner. Someone else also made a shield to defelct water to the sides of the intake.

Will do...There is just so much wrong with the way this was conceived. What a genius.
