I found this gem of a car at the local FLM dealer. It's a "new" 2006 Lincoln Town Car Designer Series. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse. :)

Even the trunk is 'special'. The trunk has a hands-free power open/close trunk-lid. Inside is the optional trunk organizer. It also has the rear obstacle detection system.

This car has virtually everything one could want in a luxury sedan and rides and drives like a dream. I will miss the '02 Town Car in a way, but I don't think it will be for long. ;)

Very cool :D Panther platform is great !!! I just think it doesn't have any backseat legroom. haha

That TC will run for a looong time. My crown vic as at 180k miles. Man they sure went a long way from 98... that interior has fantastic upgrades.

Tammy said I can't have one because I'm not old enough. I think 49 1/2 is old enough. If my Mark ever bites the dust, gets hit by a kid hauling ass through my neighborhood (like before) or turns into a money pit, I'm going to get one. Neiner to Tammy.
Great car Driller.

Very Nice JP and black too. The way there supposed to be. I like that rear flip out cup holder caddy. Also that monster moonroof. Are they bigger than the ones in our Marks? Looks easy to wash and wax too with all the rounded corners and smooth body transition lines. Everything just fits. Sharp looking car.

hmmmmm

hmmmmm

Now that i go back and look at it again im seeing something that gives me an idea. I like the lower fairing off the bottom of the front bumper. I wonder if thats removable and can be grafted to the bottom nose of my Mark to save me time and fabricating work for the scoop. All i would have to do is fill in the back part to ram the air up into the intercooler. hmmmm Ill be keeping lookout at junkyards now for the lincolns too.

WOW!!!
That Town Car is loaded!!!

How does the ride feel?

Does the car have parking sensors?

AAH! DIRT!!! hahahaha

Yeah, amazing how dust shows on Black. I've gotten used to it from driving the black Harley truck however. Used to be I hated black. But you just can't beat a nice big clean black vehicle for looks.

Too bad it wasn't the "L" version... but I do not ride in the back anyways. LOL

That car has every bell and whistle that I like in a car

Like the Mercedes?

Nah, take her for a test drive in one. She will love it.

I don't know, I never see moonroofs in Town Cars? It actually does appear larger than the Mark VIII's moonroof.

It needs to be easy to wash and wax, there's acres of it to tend to! ;)

The ride is fantastic. Not a big boat ride but a firm, controlled 'comfortably numb' experience. :D

It has something called 'rear obstacle detection' but I didn't notice the usual sensors you see on the big black bumper.

I still have exploring to do.

A camera per chance?

Nice car! Is Mrs. Driller starting a limo service? ;)

LOL, she could. :D

If we can get Drillbit to come to Carlisle with the '96, she can bring the Town Car and chauffer you back and forth from the hotel. ;)

After doing some exploring today, the DVD system and window tint were a dealer add-on from this time last year. I found paperwork showing the dealer installed options and dealer 'incentives'. Apparently everything else is factory optioned.

The 'rear obstacle sensing' system is described in the owner's manual as 'Parking Aid'. It can be turned on/off via the message center. The sensors must be behind the bumper. No backup camera was mentioned or detected. There was a informational CD included that also helped with the myriad of options and features.

This is one very, very nice car. You're right Mike, this oughta help keep Momma happy. :D
