RE: Dublin Car RUN

I look forward to showing my new "surprise" to everyone. I'll be there with bells on.

I'll meet you all at IKEA, and if anyone who is heading there through marin, let me know(johnaec). We can meet on the west side of the richmond bridge, and roll to IKEA as a group. We wont be bringing two cars, just my Black 94.

hmmm.. working on my suspension all weekend, drag racing on Monday, and a car meet the following weekend? Who could ask for more?

RE: Dublin Car RUN

I could meet up near the Richmond Bridge - say 10 or 10:15am? Marin Rod and Gun Club? Scott? Obbie? Bobber? Coldasice? That's at least six of us from the North Bay...we should probably get some emails out...

RE: Dublin Car RUN

Yes, but if we are going to meet with Stanley at IKEA at 10:00, the "north bay" folks have to meet prior to that. I suggest we meet in the Home Depot parking lot, in the shoreline office complex, just east of Sonnen BMW, in San Rafael(its on Francisco Blvd near Richmond bridge) at 9:30. Then we can all go across that attrocity they call a "bridge" at the new speed limit of 35 mph(under construction), dodge the flying gravel, and 4" deep potholes, etc!( :) )

I will send emails/PM's to everyone. Thanks

Here's what he said at another site:

"We will be meeting at the Ikea In Emmeryville Sunday the 22, at 10:30 am for the run to Dublin..."

What is it Stan - 10:00 or 10:30?

RE: Dublin Car RUN

Ok.. I will re-write all the emails... actually, I will probably still meet in Marin at 9:30 anyway, that way can spend some extra time cleaning my car up. You know it will be foggy at that hour, and by the time I roll in from Santa Rosa, it looks like I drove in the rain.

Stanley...I'll call you later about "other things".

Stan, Craig, John, Obey and anyone else on this side,

I'll see you at 10 at the Home Depot lot. Should be a fun day.

Later, Bob

RE: Dublin Car RUN

Looks like we will be "representin'" quite well. So far, car count=
Me and my sprung 94, Brenda and her 95, Obby, Bobber, John, Max, Hurley, Stanley, and Coldasice(new local) will be there. (9)

This is our first "gathering" of 2004, and the better we present ourselves, the more attention our club will attract. What that will accomplish, I dont know. But pride in numbers has to be a good thing, right?

if anyone CANT make it, please let me know either here, via PM, or email me.

And NO BODY is permitted to steam clean, or wash their engine prior to this run! if its dirty, leave your hood closed! :)

RE: Dublin Car RUN

Hey VP,
Are you giving me gas about cleaning the engine. Wow, between that and the suspension I can't get a break. OK, but now I have to fix the turn signals that quit when I used the emergency flashers last Wednesday night. I wonder if it's me or the detroit iron?

See you there, Bob

RE: Dublin Car RUN

RE: Dublin Car RUN

Boy, are you guys tough!
I think I did fix the turn signals. OnN another site I psosted the question and one guy came back with spraying the emergency flasher switch on top the steering column with electrical cleaner.

I did and darn if it didn't work! He says they are notorious for collecting dust and causing that problem. Good to know now that it works again. It beats taking out the glove box to find the relay or replacing the MultiFunction switch.

Later dudes!

Bob

RE: Dublin Car RUN

A co-worker of mine who lives in Pt. Richmond gave me some advice. he mentioned that on Sunday mornings, IKEA is an absolute zoo, and the parking lot can be very full, and very difficult to get in and out of.
SO:
On that note, how about meeting in the "Chevy's" parkinglot on the other side of the freeway(80). It is at the Powell St. exit, on the west side or 80. The restaurant will be closed, so the lot will be empty. there are also panoramic views of the City and the G.G.Bridge(excellent photo op folks!).

Give me your feedback. I think, as cautious as we all are about our cars, the less we have to deal with the east bay public, the better. Especially on a Sunday morning at IKEA!

Chevy's parking lot is on the west side of the Powell st. exit. easy off ramp, easy on ramp, easy meeting spot, nice photo spot. What's not to like?

RE: Dublin Car RUN

RE: Dublin Car RUN

OK, So we still meet at Home Depot in Marin and convoy to East Bay, Chevy's?

That works,

Bob

RE: Dublin Car RUN

RE: Dublin Car RUN

yes...

Here's the latest:
We are meeting at HOME DEPOT in San Rafael between 9:30am and 10:00am on Sunday, 2/22.

From there, will will hop the S.R. bridge to Hwy 80, and exit the Powell St. offramp, turn right, and meet Stanley at Chevy's restaurant parking lot. great Photo point, easy offramp, easy on ramp, and then convoy to Dublin as a group.

I got an email from some Lincoln folks in the Sacramento area. They, and a few Mustang people might try to hook up with us at Chevy's, and join the "convoy".

Mark VIII's unite once again!

If it rains, it is a total NO GO, I repeat.. if it rains its a NO GO.
