Electrical problems, error messages, and no start

I was driving to work in the red 98 today and started experiencing a variety of problems. I am thinking the alternator failed, but want to see what you all think. Most of my drive is on the highway at 70mph. When i started decreasing speed to exit I first received the Check ABS message and the ABS light went off. Then I started getting the Check Air Suspension light. Then when my speed reduced to local road speeds I started getting a check Charging system message. then the information center display started flashing on and off randomly. After I parked I tried restarting the car and I get the low/dead battery clicking. Car seemed to run a little rough but maybe I was being overly attentive at that point. Plus the air suspension is low. with each corner at slightly different heights. Since I have towing insurance and I am 25 miles from home I willjust have it towed.

I am thinking the alternator started failing at highway speeds. Then when I started slowing down the air compressor would not run because the voltage was to low which threw the air suspension alarms. Not sure why it would throw the ABS messages. Then when my RPM's got real low the car had trouble running the message center and giving proper juice to the spark plug coils.

Any theories as to the problem? Do you think it would be safe to try jumping it and driving home?
