Ok quick question?

My 1997 Continental Owners manual says to use 5w-30 Oil..Now I just found a couple online noteces dating from 2002 and 2006 that fords reccomends 5w-20 oil for fuel savings...They listed a bunch of vehicles and the 97 conti was there....anyone use 5w-20 here?

Yep - I have used 5w20 for years. You will notice a "BUTT-O-METER" improvment is acceleration. Seems like the engine runs "freer".

will it help with gas mileage..since winter came i went from 20.6 mpg to 18.1 mpg 50/50 city, highway driving.... =(

well, who can say really? After all there is more warm up time and less 35-45 mph time and more tho slower acceleration. I think is helps - but who really knows how much?
