I working on performing the J-MOD for my stock '95 with 109k on the clock. It gives me a slight buzzing in nuetral when it is cold. However, apart from that the transmission is perfect.

I purchased the kit from BOC, and it states that it is beneficial to replace the EPC while you are in there as the original one can move around and cause problems. Has anybody else done this, and had positive results? Any input regarding replacing this sensor with the '96+ model?

Thanx guys, happy friday!

According to JW, any '94-'97 transmission can use the '97 EPC solenoid (7G383).

Right. I had read that, and also saw your post (from '04 I think) - where you posed the same question, and didn't get much of a response.

I dont' want to fix what isn't broken, but if it is a gainful upgrade i'm all for it. Just didn't know if it was a common thing to do while it is apart?

Also, from what I hear/read, the buzzing is "normal" and is due to a valve "floating" in the valve body because of the way the fluid flows in Nuetral. I had the same buzzing and did some investigating after I had my trans rebuild and a 3200 stall put in. I never tore down the trans to verify, but everyone that heard it and inspected it said it would not hurt and they've heard several 4R70Ws make the same noise.
