Well I wont be breaking any records, we're just going out to a bracket race.
Hopefully I haven't forgotten how to do it since I haven't made a pass since august.

Tommy - Absolutely amazing..........352,000 miles! I can't believe your car has made it past the 350k mark (no pun intended), is still running AND you still taking it to the track.
You've got to get some pics of your car with that kind of mileage. What does the interior look like?
Mine looks pretty good at 215k because of a paint job I had done in 2002 and some newer front seats I had put in. I've pretty much retired from bringing her to the track.
I now plan on keeping mine until it dies now that I've picked up a weekend/nice-day cruiser.
btw - You're the only person I know that actually should get a hybrid!!

driver side door handle broken, other than that exterior looks very good for a car with this many miles.. hood and front of fenders have a few rock chips as does the front bumper cover
Interior - normal split in the bottom of the drivers seat up near the seat back.
The top of the steering wheel is showing wear
The "set" button on my cruise control buttons has no "words"
The passenger seat has the expected cracking/lines associated with a car of this age.
Overall on a scale of 1-10 I'd rate the exterior at 7-8
Interior at 6-7.

Ken, I think you may be making a mistake.
You know what happens when you take a throughbred race horse and keep it in the stall all the time
I think part of the reason my car lasted so long, is because I never let it sit long enough to realize it's "tired".
I've seen a couple of people who retire their cars from racing, and.. the cars dont seem happy anymore, and are giving them problems.
You should get your car back out to the track, before IT realizes it's been "put out to pasture".

Your car looks great for a car with that many miles. I was expected badly fadded paint, all the clear off both bumpers and yellow headlights. And not just worn front seats but badly torn ones. Amazing.........you've got a runner there!!!
Before I got mine painted 4-years ago the clear coat was coming off both bumpers and I started to get fade marks on the trunk, hood and roof. If I didn't paint the car, it would look like hell now!
My Mark isn't too happy about my recent car purchase and believes she's been "put out to pasture". Within a week of puchasing the Vette some relay sensor to the radiator fan broke, she overheated and shot the radiator overflow cap off with about a gallon of fluid.....of course this happend 60-miles from my house AND my wife was driving it. I've tried to reassure her that we've been together for a long time and she's still my daily driver (the car not my wife ). She's gotten a little better........but I still think she's jealous.
When (not if) you get the 400,000, I want a detailed post with big detailed pics of the car (exterior, interior, engine bay, trunk, undercarriage, etc.). In fact they should create a seperate link for your car on this website. The 400k feet will be something that will amaze all!!!

dont fear the fuel pump.. it's not that bad of a job.
my first one died at the dragstrip when I used to race the car on "fumes" to try to make it go faster {rolls eyes}
after changing the pump, on the ground.. in the grass, I decided it was much better just to keep the car on the topside of the fuel guage.
you can get a good 255 liter pump for about 100.00.
order it now, before your car leaves you stranded..as mine did, 100 miles from home, in the staging lanes for ROUND 1. (bummer)

Do the fuel pump now!!! Mine also left me stranded because I ignored the warning signs, just like you! You're also most likely losing some gas mileage with a bad pump.
As Tommy mentions, find somebody (or do it yourself) that will put in a Walbro. I got an estimate for an installed Licoln Pump and it was something like $600!! I had the Walbro 255 installed for ~$300.
Tommy - I'm taking baby steps, my short-term goal is 250,000. (from the current 215,000).

We have 87K on our 98 base model Mark and 80K on our Spring Feature Mark. About 90% of the time, they sit cozily in the garage as we drive our 2004 Crown Vic LX Sport and accumulate miles on it. The urge to drive one of the Mark VIII's is there every sunny day, and most of the time it's really hard to resist. But trying to keep the miles down and make the cars last for as long as I possibly can!
