Hey I own a 87 lsc and I was wondering how I can make it sound like a stock 4.6 mustang? I dont want it to be much louder then a stock stang Will mahnaflows do that?

RE: exhaust question

Sorry guy si meant to say that I own a 97 lsc not an 87 lsc also what kind of sound will I get if I remove the resonator

RE: exhaust question

Hi! Most of the guys on the boards go with Magnaflow Ultra mufflers. The 97 LSC does not have resonators. It does have 3 catalytic convertors, and 2 multi channel mufflers. Please use the search function to get many many different ideas on different systems.

I've heard a lot of different setups on this car and none of them sound like a Mustang. I don't know if its the length of the car (and subsequently, the exhaust pipes), the way the cats are right on the manifolds, the exhaust cams, or some combination of them all, but this car seems to have a sound all it's own no matter what system you use.

yep, i agree with manson, im not even using the Mark8 engine anymore. put a 2001 cobra motor in. With longtubes on it and well...it still sounds like a Mark 8. Not the Cobra Mustang rumble of my friends car that i love so much. I'll agree with the leangth theory..as we both have identical engines with headers, aftermarket highflow cats, crossover, dual exhausts, and magnaflows. But mine is alot longer system.

RE: exhaust question

in order to make the car sound like a mustang you need to do a similar setup to one. in order to do this you need to put a muffler up front and then put straight pipe in the back. if you put a flow master in the middle with long tube headers and then put straight pipes it will sound very similar. also besides our cars length wich is restriction we have the problem of the bends in the exhaust. every bend is more restriction added with the length and this together with make the system quiter.

I was just thinking bout that at work dan. the bend that the mustang have make it sound like that, if you were to try and make the exhuast like the mustang it might sound like it, w/ the pipes running over the axles but that would be hard, so your stuck w/ the mmark 8 sound
