First time spraying down the track, problems...

Very frustrating night at the track. The first run I was so nervous I hit the bottle heater switch instead of the nitrous and it ran a 14.3 on motor on the nitrous tune. Second run was even worse on the nitrous. I hit it in 1st gear right after 3000rpm and it bogged down HARD when it hit. I coasted to the finish line. It felt like it only sprayed fuel and no nitrous. Parked the car, rechecked all the solinoids, everything looked fine. Remember I tested it a few hours earlier and it worked fine. I think to myself it must be too much fuel with the nitrous tune plus the 125 fuel jets on the 100 nitrous jet. I put the 100 fuel jet in and take it for a test run in the back of the track where they usually run autocross. It hits hard in 1st, shifts right at 6500rpm and it continues to pull like a freight train in 2nd gear. So i'm happy until it's time to run again. This time when the nitrous kicks in it feels OK but in the upper rpm's it begins to break up so I let off again and coast. Frustrated, I decide im done messing around with the nitrous for the night and upload the NA tune. The track was not hooking hard so with a 2.1 60 foot time I hit a 14.1 and back that up with a 14.21 and then I redlight in the 2nd round -.002.
Im gonna check the NGK TR6 plugs which I gapped at .040. Any other ideas as to what's going on?

Do you have a wide-band O2?

The 'breaking up' is usually a lean condition. I would certainly check the plugs.

I don't have a wideband, looks like it is a fuel delivery issue though. Pulled the plugs and they were super white, but no sign of detonation... I'm gonna replace the fuel filter first but I have a feeling it's the darn SVT Focus pump...

Put the stock tune back in the car to see if the Sniper was messing up my a/f ratio and it did the same thing. Sprayed 1st gear for like 2 seconds and it hit hard but starting breaking up so I let off right away... bummer. At least I know it's not the Sniper tune...

you ran 14.3 on Nitrous Tune when you ran the first time..... This is probably a leaned out tune to compensate for the added nitrous and fuel you will be pushing through. So you proably cooked your plugs on that run which screwed with the result of your following runs.

I think the plugs are fine considering I ran NA a few times down the track after and the car ran good...

I'd like to help you with this, at the moment I am pressed for time so I will post later. I have now run nitrous on my Mark VIII for 4 years, with a best time of 12.18, which I mention so that you will understand that I am not just pulling information out of thin air. I feel like I have some experience in this area.

I have MANY questions and a number of caveats for you. I'll post again tomorrow, after my cardiac rehab.
