Logres, Speaker aize has nothing to do with sound quality. Many of the world's finest speakers have smaller magnets. There are many different types of magents, some will give you a better BL but with a smaller size. By saying you are buying speakers with the same power rating ass original, are you saying you will use the same amp? djhttp://memimage.cardomain.com/member_images/2/web/602000-602999/602027_21.jpg^^^^^^My 3 Babies!!!^^^^^^

One of the reasons I said "all things being equal" was to cover the fact that not all magnets are made of the same stuff. You are right, a 50 oz Molybdenum (?) magnet will probably be more powerful than a 75 oz standard ferro magnet.
I want to see if I can get away with using the same amp...because I'm lazy. All I want is to be able to hear the music on the freeway with my windows open, like I can already with my 96. But seeing as how the speakers are now 8 years old, it's time to replace them. I'm pretty sure the cones and rubber parts are worn out.
