Location: Fort Myers, Florida

Why I'm Selling: I needed a truck and just bought an F-150.

History: I am the second owner. I purchased the vehicle from a Fort Myers, Florida Lexus dealer in May of 2003. The car had 22,000 miles on it. The car was a local trade by an older gentleman. The only problems I noticed were that the passenger-side cup holder was broken off and the floor mats were from a Collector's Edition. I still have the pictures of this car in front of the Lexus dealership. This car was my daily driver and has been very well maintained. It has been a Florida car its entire life. I drove this car in my 2 hour commute to work, so nearly all of the miles I've driven are highway miles. Oil has been changed religiously with synthetic. Includes both key fobs and the owner's manual. I kept all of my maintenance records.

Interior: The front sets are original in great condition with no tears or cracking. The rear seats are showroom new. I have used only Lexol leather products in caring for the seats -- not one drop of ArmorAll since I've owned it. No one has ever smoked in this car. Carpet is in fine shape. Headliner has one slight blemish (see below).

Exterior: Exterior is in terrific condition. Paint still shines and there's not a single grocery cart ding. Some tiny scratches from road rubble and there is some small pitting in front nose due to Florida love bugs, but nothing major.

Tires: Sumitomos; 85% of tread left. Original spare and jack included.

Electrical: Everything works including power windows, power seats, telescoping wheel (up and down), neon brake light, air suspension, photochromatic rear-view mirror, power side mirrors, cruise control, and on and on. All gauges and sensors work. Air is still ice cold and climate control works fine. Exceptions noted in "Problems" area below.

Aftermarket: After my purchase, I made one after-market addition. I added an Alpine CHA-S634 6-CD changer with MP3 capability along with the appropriate interfaces. The changer gives you the ability to have over 600 MP3 songs. The stock look of the vehicle has been completely preserved, and the stock head unit works perfectly with the changer. The changer is secured inside the trunk, just beneath the top so that it offers no intereference with loading the trunk and effectively takes up no trunk space.

Problems: I don't mean to over-focus on the problems with this car -- they are really negligble and mostly common with this model. This is a beautiful, well maintained car. However, I know that those who shop on this site are particular about their Mark VIIIs. Therefore, I want to describe the problems in detail so there are no surprises.

The headlight covers have some hazing from road dust. They have been polished per instructions in these forums and don't look bad at all.

Steering Wheel: The grey "leather" on the top of the steering wheel began to flake about a year after I bought the car; hence the steering wheel cover you see in the pictures. The flaking area is about a 4=inch strip on the top of the wheel. Otherwise, it's fine. I just covered it so it wouldn't continue to flake from me touching it.

As with many Mark VIII's (check the forums) the driver's side view mirror has gone foggy. It still works fine, but it's no longer photochromatic.

There is a circular discoloration about the size of a dime in the passenger seat. I was vacuuming the car one day and did not notice that the nozzle of the vacuum had stuck on the seat. When I pulled it off, the spot was darker. This is not a rip or tear -- the leather is just a bit darker in that area.

There is a 7-inch long, 1/8 inch wide, discoloration in the headliner. Long story how it happened, but the short version is that it was caused by some cough medicine flying through the air. I cleaned it right away, and it is hardly noticeable, but I thought I should mention it.

There is a mark on the radio control panel, just above and to the right of the volume knob. This is just a wear mark from my finger adjusting the volume.

This isn't really a problem, but I should mention it to avoid questions: No, it's not an LSC or a Collector's Edition. No, it doesn't have a sunroof or heated seats.
