my 98 has some serious issues in the front end took to a local shop they told me pretty much all should get dont control arms ect. (didnt say air ride was bad) also may possibly need steering rack becasue the steering wheel doesnt return. i was wondering what namebrand oem or aftermarket should i go with for all of my suspension needs and where to find them thanks

For your Air ride parts: American Air Suspensions has our Air Springs and rebuilt compressors. Eddie Spinks provides us with 1st Class service, and his knowledge frpm being a former tech is impeccable. Original Air Springs you can still buy (Max at 5 Star Ford) but are considerably more expensive. Turn your air ride off after you get in the car and start it up, let it lift up completely then open the door (car still runing) and go in the trunk and turn the switch off. Drive this way for a day or two to see if you loose air.

For the rest of the front of the front end parts I would use Advance Auto as they have decent prices and suppliers, although there may be some items to be found cheaper at Rock Auto. For Upper and Lower controll arms, strut rod bushing, links etc I would reommend you use TRW/Moog parts. Cardone does a good job on rebuilt racks and we had no problems with them. If you need to go into the brakes and rotors then I would suggest Bendix rotors, their ceramix pads, and rebuilt calipers from Cardone.

My advice from my experience, stay away from A1/Cardone racks. I have not had good luck with them. If Ford still offers a re-man, I would suggest going that route. Replacing a rack is not a job you want to do more than once.

There has been known issues with Moog strut rod bushings as well.

One of our sponsors, supercoupeperformance.com offers much of what you may need in the line of parts.
