front end squeaking

Hi, my mark has about 170,000 on her now. There is some bad squeaking going on when I turn the wheel and when I bounce the front end. I don't have air ride anymore, I just replaced the left side bearing. I took the car to the local garage and they gave me an estimate of 750$ to replace the upper arms and some other work, (I don't have the estimate in front of me). One other thing that I have noticed is that the wheel does not like to come back to center when you let go after a turn. Is that a good price? or is this something that is a do-it-yourself project. I do have some friends that are good with cars and a case of beer can go a long way and is just a little cheaper then 750$ bucks. I did just lube up the tie rod ends (where the zerk fittings are) and it did seem to help a little with the noise but not completely. Thanks

Well, I paid $800 for the entire front end of my 93 to get rebuilt(excluding strut rod bushings but including 4-wheel alignment), so if it's inclusive enough it sounds like a fair deal. But if it's only 1 tie rod end and ball joint, you could be getting ripped off.
