Front strut rod bushing removal

Greetings everyone. I have my lower control arm and my strut rod out of my car at the moment. I'm wondering how in the hades do I get the bushings out of the k-member piece.

I think it's an inside outside bushing setup but I can't seem to make any progress on splitting the things up to get that stuff out.

I managed to get that front strut rod nut off, I managed to get the ball joint off, I can't stop now :)

RE: Front strut rod bushing removal

An air hammer worked wonders for me for the 2nd one I took out. I destroyed the sleave which wasn't an issue beacuase I was replacing them anyway. The first one came apart with a big crow bar. Good luck

RE: Front strut rod bushing removal

now that i got it apart and back together I'm curious about wether the length of the metal bushings inside the critical part. Like maybe I shouldv'e somehow compressed them all together and then put the nut on, how to do that I'm not sure, but I just tightened up the nut a lot and that front bushing gives quite a bit so hopefully it gave enough so that the bushings and the front disc are together like they should be.

I just finished the drivers side for now, but after I do the passenger side I'm thinking that maybe along with the alignment I'll get whoever does the alignment to double check my work on those strut rod bushings.
