Front "thud" noise on a 2002 ls 3.9

Ok people i am on here trying to find a solution on my problem. First off when i drive the car down the road there is a noise that comes from the front that sounds like a thud. only when you hit little bumps you hear this. I have an alignment done and they told me my front end was in good shape. Could it be a sway bar?? or shocks??? I have 104k on the car and they are still the orginal shocks on it.

Now number 2...... Where can i buy all 8 Coils for the car. Ill sometimes throw a ce light and that is the reason but the dealer wants 80 a piece for them and im not a millionaire i drive a ls for god sakes. but any help would be great.

If you want to buy new OEM coils - give Max at Five Star Ford a shout for the best pricing.

It's unlikely you need all eight coils. Your reasoning?
 
i was told that they are only good until 80k miles. Im tired of the hassle of just doing one at a time i just want to knock out all 8 of them. i found on ebay all 8 shipped for like 200 and i thought that was a good deal.
 
Definitally front struts on the knocking, and wth would you want to waste your money on all 8 coils and who the heck do you get your info from!?

Is the car running bad, a check engine light saying #1 to #8 cylinder misfire, wth?

VERY doubtful the noise is your struts. Most likely sway bar bushings. Change those first and then report back. You will have to change the entire sway bar and bushings if you get the parts from Ford. You can use aftermarket Poly bushings but will need to take apart the old ones so you can get the proper size. You can change the sway bar and bushings your self but it is a bit of a job.

Ya, you can be like the guy in the other post that took his car to the dealer, paid them $1000 to replace the sway bar bushings, only to have the noise still be there. :D

Again, why buy ALL NEW coils??? If one is bad, you only need ONE.
