Front wheel bearings

Misanthropy

Information Junkie
Constantly hearing a clicking noise coming from the front end on turns and it goes away when I straiten the front end out. Any suggestions? I am thinking it might be the brakes or the bearings.

Also there is a little plastic tab that comes off of the hub. That is bent downward.

Is it a fast or slow clicking in relation to your speed? Also, which wheels do you have on your car?

The front bearings that I have replaced have typically given a rumble type of noise, such as a bicycle chain noise. How many miles do you have on those hubs? If you need to replace them it is an easy task, and you should replace them with Timken, Skf or similar quality bearings that you can get from the chains. Don't buy the cheap imports as they won't last.

160k, I mine as well replace them

Those are the wheels I was thinking you had. Remove all the hub caps and see if the noise goes away. :D

I'd jack up the front of the car and spin both wheels very fast. Compare the sound from one side to the other. You can usually hear bad bearings when the wheel is spinning fast. Check for play too.

Also, check the insides of your wheels for scratch marks. I've heard of some aftermarket wheels touching sometimes. I've also heard of inside wheel weights touching sometimes.
