Gas Guage Always Says FULL

Hello. I just installed my new 4" Dynotech MMX Driveshaft. I pulled the entire tank for the installation, since i didn't pull my exhaust, just dropped it down. Well i only had 2 gallons of gas in it when i performed the driveshaft installation. So after i installed it I went and filled it up, says full. I've driven it about 40 miles now and is still above the full mark on the gas guage. The computer says "Tank Full" still but the "miles left" to empty on the computer is still accurate. Saying i have 278 miles left till empty, and when it's full it says like 360 miles till empty or something like that. I'm pretty sure i have the 2 gas lines in the correct order, and if they weren't i doubt it would run correctly, but I was a little iffy of if i put the lines on correctly. The connector is plugged in but maybe it's dirty? Could me removing the gas tank cause the sending unit to go bad? I'm seriously stumped on this one... anyone else ever have related problems? Thanks for any help i really appreciate it!
 
I have to drive almost 100 miles before my gauge comes down below the "FULL" mark...I think you are still okay.....go a ways yet and check it again.
