I have a 97 MarkVIII LSC and my gauge cluster lights go off when my headlights come on(sometimes they work but rarely) and the light on the door handle dont work either. What could this be? Anyone else ever had this problem? Thanks

Sounds to me like the dimmer switch for the headlights has failed. You'll need to get a new dimmer or a new headlight master switch, not sure how the 97's are but the Gen 1's have separate switches.

In that case, its a bad headlight switch.

The door handle light could be just a bulb, unless it works intermittantly too.

Unless I misunderstand, I don't think you need turn signal switch. My 98 has the dimmer dial next to the headlight switch.

My dimmer is next to the headlight nob also. Im confused now. Do I need to replace them? Or replace something in the turn signal stalk?

J said the 'HEADLIGHT' dimmer switch. Maybe he meant the interior light dimmer. It IS right next to the headlight switch in a Gen II also.

The door handle lights work when the cluster lights work. Where can I get the dimmer/flash and how much?

Ok, than you definitally ONLY need a new dimmer switch.

Correct.

Dimmer, yes!

No...I said the dimmer switch FOR the headlights, haha. And you said its on the turn signal switch! Which thingy are you talking about Bud, cruise control? The dimmer switch doesn't work unless you turn on the headlights (or parking lights) so I figured he would know.

Jess, I was pretty sure that's what you meant, but Be2 confused the issue when he threw in the part about the rotory interior light dimmer or fader control!!! LOL
