This is the old wiring mod for when you add the HID lights to a gen 1 that originally had the halogen lights. It keeps the HID's from cycling on and off when you use the high beams. This saves the HID's from wearing out due to turning on the HID's when they are still hot.
The last time I did this to my black winter beater, I had to look it up in the wiring diagram, so I thought I'd post this to save time for anyone else doing this. Since I'm swapping the HID's from the old beater to my new black car I need to do this again also.
You just need to connect the red with black stripe wire to the red with yellow stripe wire on this connector to the multifunction switch.
